Abstract
- The article discusses a study to examine the factorial validity of the recently introduced 9-item Bergen Burnout Inventory (BBI-9) which is designed to measure three core dimensions of burnout including emotional exhaustion, cynicism, and sense of inadequacy. Topics discussed include burnout as a work-related state of ill characterized by exhaustion, cynicism, and reduced professional efficacy, cross-sectional design with data pertaining to managers, and employees, and occupational health.
