This article discusses the role of agricultural experts in Andalusia, Spain, regarding the development and implementation of pest control in the region. The author comments on the drafting of agricultural treatises outlining the proper extermination techniques for produce, farm animals, and in agricultural buildings. She describes the history of pest control in Andalusia as well as of these treatises and their effectiveness. The influence of Greco-Byzantine agricultural pest control practices on Andalusian techniques is also explored.
