Abstract

The article presents a study which examined the impact of mercury exposure on the population of the piscivorous common loon in Adirondack Park, New York. Topics discussed include the spatial distibution of mercury, a model for assessing the long-term effect of mercury on common loon reproduction and growth, and the extent of mercury contamination of aquatic ecosystems in the area.
