Abstract
- The article discusses the link of precancerous polyps to the risk factors and incidence of colorectal cancer. It explores the pathogenesis of bowel cancer from the transformation of adenoma or polyp into carcinoma and from the incidence of hereditary non-polyposis colorectal cancer or Lynch syndrome. It emphasizes the importance of colonoscopic surveillance by a gastroenterologist and treatments through surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy.
