Comparative evaluation of different F and N gene based reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction for molecular detection of peste des petits ruminants virus from clinical samples.

The article presents a study which compares reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) with Sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (S-ELISA) to evaluate different F and N gene for molecular detection of Peste des petits ruminants (PPR) virus. A total of 10 clinical samples were collected from sheep and goats with symptoms of PPRV infection. The study suggest that F-gene based RT-PCR can be easily replace by highly sensitive and specific N-gene for PPRV detection.
