Abstract

The article offers information on history, purpose and development in the criminal victims' right under the human rights law of Great Britain. It discusses the role of the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) in protecting the rights of victims in criminal investigation and prosecution with reference to the British criminal law. It also analyzes the importance of the Human Rights Act 1998 in safeguarding the rights of victims and witnesses.
