Abstract

This article describes scenery along Hwy. 637 to Killarney in Ontario. It is a road that leads to places of astounding beauty, an historic fishing village, comfortable resorts, and outdoor activities to suit many tastes. The landscape around it offers sites for canoe fishing and a number of rapids are also seen along the route. Hwy. 637 passes through the Killarney Provincial park for 11 kilometers, but there is not much change in scenery. In places, unbroken green foliage along both sides of the road is trimmed with blankets of colorful wildflowers. Nellie Lake on the north side of the park is one of the clearest lakes in North America. Bears occasionally wander into Killarney and cause problems. There's a chance to see wildlife and explore the fishing possibilities and, for certain, dine on fish barelyout of the water, while watching palatial yachts that long in a dream world while moving the route.
