Abstract
- The lithium 1-azaallyl complex [Li{η<SUP>3</SUP>-N(SiMe<INF>3</INF>)C(<SUP>t</SUP>Bu)CH<INF>2</INF>}]<INF>3</INF> (<BO>1</BO>), has been prepared, and its X-ray crystal structure was determined. The niobocene(III) allyl and 1-azaallyl complexes Cp<INF>2</INF>Nb[η<SUP>3</SUP>-CH<INF>2</INF>C(R)CH<INF>2</INF>] (Cp = η<SUP>5</SUP>-C<INF>5</INF>H<INF>4</INF>SiMe<INF>3</INF>; R = H (<BO>2</BO>), Me (<BO>3</BO>)) and Cp<INF>2</INF>Nb[N(SiMe<INF>3</INF>)C(<SUP>t</SUP>Bu)CH<INF>2</INF>] (<BO>4</BO>) have been synthesized. Oxidation of <BO>2</BO> and <BO>3</BO> by O<INF>2</INF> yields Cp<INF>2</INF>Nb[η<SUP>1</SUP>-CH<INF>2</INF>C(R)CH<INF>2</INF>](O) (R = H (<BO>5</BO>), Me (<BO>6</BO>)). The complexes CpNb(&dbd;N<SUP>t</SUP>Bu)[η<SUP>1</SUP>-CH<INF>2</INF>C(R)CH<INF>2</INF>]Cl (Cp = η<SUP>5</SUP>-C<INF>5</INF>H<INF>5</INF>; R = H (<BO>7</BO>), Me (<BO>8</BO>)) have also been prepared. Oxidation of <BO>2</BO>−<BO>4</BO> by PbCl<INF>2</INF> gave Cp<INF>2</INF>Nb[η<SUP>1</SUP>-CH<INF>2</INF>C(R)CH<INF>2</INF>]Cl (R = H (<BO>9</BO>), Me (<BO>10</BO>)) and Cp<INF>2</INF>Nb[N(SiMe<INF>3</INF>)C(<SUP>t</SUP>Bu)CH<INF>2</INF>]Cl (<BO>11</BO>). Cp<INF>2</INF>Nb[η<SUP>1</SUP>-CH<INF>2</INF>C(R)CH<INF>2</INF>](L) (L = CO (<BO>12</BO>), CN(2,6-Me<INF>2</INF>−C<INF>6</INF>H<INF>3</INF>) (<BO>13</BO>)) were prepared by the reaction of Cp<INF>2</INF>NbCl(L) with ClMg(CH<INF>2</INF>CHCH<INF>2</INF>).
