Abstract

The mechanism of the reaction of the tri-n-butylstannyl anion with n-butyl bromide and iodide in THF was studied by the chemically induced dynamic nuclear polarization (CIDNP) technique. Strong 119Sn CIDNP spectra were observed for the first time. The emissive CIDNP phase of the tetra-n-butylstannane proves that radical intermediates are involved in the present reactions.
