Abstract
- A capture-recapture model that depends on the catchability of the individuals in a closed population is considered. An asymptotic result on the distribution of a pivtal quantity is proved. This result was used previously to construct confidence intervals for the population size N. Certain other confidence intervals for N are obtained by using the normal approximatin for the maximum likelihood esimator of functions of N. A simulation study is carried out to compare the actal confidence levels of these intervals
