Abstract
- Follow-up studies 5 years after the end of an intervention programme for children with severe language delay are reported. In the original intervention study the children showed considerable improvement, in their language development, were better able to cope with schooling at a critical lime in their lives, and more were able to enter normal school. The follow-up studies show that the children's improved status in general was maintained, thus providing evidence of the value of the early remedial treatment.
