Abstract

As-deposited superconducting films of Y1Ba2Cu3O7−δwith zero resistance at a temperature of ⋍ 80 K have been successfully grown using a Nd:YAG laser. A substrate temperature in the range 450–550°C was found most appropriate. The use of a Nd:YAG laser instead of an excimer laser is likely to improve the cost effectiveness of the laser ablation technique.
