Abstract
- In the mixed-valent complex [Ag<SUP>II</SUP>(tmc)(BF<SUB>4</SUB>)][Ag<SUP>I</SUP><SUB>6</SUB>(C<SUB>2</SUB>)(CF<SUB>3</SUB>CO<SUB>2</SUB>)<SUB>5</SUB>(H<SUB>2</SUB>O)]·H<SUB>2</SUB>O, a [Ag<SUP>II</SUP>(tmc)(BF<SUB>4</SUB>)]<SUP>+1</SUP><SUB>∞</SUB> cationic column induces the assembly of a novel, anionic zigzag chain constructed from edge-sharing of silver(i) triangulated dodecahedra each enclosing a C<SUB>2</SUB><SUP>2−</SUP> species.
