Abstract

► Consumption of disinfected drinking water was associated to adverse health outcomes. ► Disinfection by-products are carcinogenic in animal models. ► Cyprinus carpiowere exposed to drinking water in the presence of disinfectants. ► Modulation of liver cytochrome P450s and genotoxic effects were investigated. ► Water disinfection may be responsible of metabolism perturbation and DNA damage.
