Abstract
- About 90% of patients admitted to the Wills Eye Hospital choose to be in rooms with other patients. Economic factors are of little importance in determining this preference. Patients' own opinions of their visual disability do not influence their choices. Younger patients are more attracted to multi-bedded rooms than older patients. The most important factor, however, strengthening the preference for multiple occupancy rooms is hospitalization itself.
