A REVISION OF THE COMOSAGROUP OF THE GENUS EUXOAHBN. (LEPIDOPTERA: NOCTUIDAE), WITH DESCRIPTIONS OF TWO NEW SPECIES

AbstractThe comosagroup of the genus Euxoais defined on the basis of genital characters. The species in the group are: comosa(Morrison), lineifrons(Smith), guadalupensisnew species, lucidaBarnes and McDunnough, fumalis(Grote), and occidentalisnew species. On the basis of geographical variation of adults, life history data, and experimental hybridization, populations of E. comosaare arranged in five subspecies. Adults and genitalia are illustrated and a synopsis is given for each species and subspecies.
