Abstract

The individual education plans required for handicapped learners by Public Law 94-142 establish the foundation for classroom operations that emphasize coordinated planning and regular monitoring of individual learner progress. However, team implementation of education plans usually requires a modification in the role of the teacher. As manager of classroom activities conducted by various other disciplines the teacher needs to develop and maintain a system for insuring ongoing team communication. The classroom communications system, emphasizing written communications, provides the team with the day to day performance results necessary to make appropriate instructional modifications.
