Immunoglobulin G particles manufacturing by spray drying process for pressurised metered dose inhaler formulations

•Inhalation of pharmaceuticals is a promising alternative.•Protein atomization process in presence of mannitol or trehalose provide suitable particles for inhalation.•IgG co spray-dried with trehalose gives an alloy of IgG/trehalose that confers a good stability of the IgG.•Trehalose has a protective role during the spray drying process.
