Abstract
- •Erectile dysfunction is one of the most common sexual disorders among man.•Main oral drugs for the treatment are phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors (PDE5Is).•Consumers see herbal supplements as ‘healthier’ and safer than conventional drugs.•Adulteration of food supplements with PDE5Is and/or its analogues is very common.•Adulteration represents serious source of toxicity and public health concern.
