Abstract

Microvascular brain injury, typically measured by extent of white matter hyperintensity (WMH) on MRI, is an important contributor to cognitive impairment in the elderly. Recent studies suggest a role for circulating β-amyloid peptide in microvascular dysfunction and white matter disease.
