Abstract

Natural calamity causes enormous destruction to human beings as well as to their properties. Continuously, the earth has been threatened and affected by different calamities such as flood, earthquake, tsunami, etc. Human beings do not have the supernatural power to go against the calamity whereas the huge destruction caused by the calamity can be reduced by taking the right decision. When the calamity causes severe damage to life and property, a right decision has to be taken to avoid and reduce the level of loss. The appropriate decision that is taken during this critical situation reduces the aggravation of the damages caused by the calamity. Support is very much required to take the right decision during emergencies. In this technically advanced age, possible measures have to be taken to safeguard the people and their belongings. The present paper consists of various studies from every part of the world on decision support systems. This paper focuses on the execution, advantages, constraints, and scope of applying the decision support system during the calamities.
