Abstract

The main questions of our studies were the rate of abioseston consumption and some aspects of “ballast feeding” by filter feeder planktonic Crustaceans in Lake Balaton. The dry weights, the calcium- and magnesium contents of the seston and that of in tissues and gut contents of Daphnia galeata SARS am. RICHARD were determined. Abioseston consumption and its effect on the intensity of filtration of Daphnia galeata were studied at different conditions of turbulency.
