This volume is the proceedings of a workshop of the Commission Informatique of the European Association of Radiology on the use of computers in data handling in radiotherapy and oncology, held in Geneva, March 1984.Forty-three papers, average length 5 pages each, are grouped into 11 sessions. A short discussion on each session is included. These sessions comprise papers on recent developments in microcomputer technology, software applications, interfacing and data networks, oncology databases, statistical evaluation, cancer registration, epidemiology, protocol management, data validity and confidentiality. Naturally, there is not comprehensive coverage of any single subject amongst this wide-ranging programme.
