Abstract
- A method to achieve Fano resonance and Lorentz resonance is theoretically proposed in this article, which is realized by changing the phase difference between the two input lights in the dual-injection structure. The method is analyzed by coupled-mode theory and exemplified by considering a dual-injection micro-disk resonator. Depending on the phase relationship between the two input lights in a dual-injection micro-disk resonator, two different resonances can be created. When the two input lights are out of phase by π/2, each whispering gallery mode (WGM) in the micro-disk resonator will generate Fano resonance. When the phase difference between the two input lights is zero, Lorentz resonances are observed, and some resonant modes disappear in the spectrum, which results in the free spectral range (FSR)of each mode being doubled
