Abstract
- Hybrid converter is a promising scheme for current harmonic suppression in high-speed permanent magnet synchronous machine (HSPMSM) drive systems. Considering the limitations of using position sensors, a position sensorless drive for permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM) with hybrid converter is proposed, equipped with online inductance identification utilizing current ripple. The main contribution of this method is less computation and high steady-state position estimation accuracy. This method has two salient features. First, the estimated positions updated at different frequencies are achieved by a simple frequency-increasing method. Second, by fully capitalizing on the hybrid frequency control strategy, a current ripple sampling mechanism is implemented without the need for additional sampling. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme is validated by simulation and experimental results.
