Abstract

Transarterial radioembolization (TARE) has applications in a wide variety of clinical scenarios, however, the evolution of dosimetry in TARE has been slow. As a radiation treatment, it is logical that how much dose is delivered and where it is distributed too will drive outcomes and complications in TARE. Unsurprisingly, the importance of personalized dosimetry as a concept and practice is gaining taction. In this review we discuss advanced or personalized dosimetry, review key portions of the data surrounding it, and discuss how this concept is likely to drive any advancement seen in this filed in the coming years.
