Assessment of the effect of thermal barrier coating blockage on film cooling effectiveness: An experimental study of full-coverage turbine vane

•Thermal barrier coating reduces the uniformity of film cooling on the vane.•Analyzed the flow mechanism of blockage on film holes.•Laid-back fan-shaped hole has great resistance to blockage.•This work and its results can guide the design of turbine vane cooling structures.
