Abstract
- •Steel/copper bimetallic structure with good metallurgical bonding using LPBF.•Obtains interfacial heterostructures in steel/copper bimetallic structures.•The heterostructures generate nano hardness imbalance to induce cutting defects.•Stress concentration makes the cutting force suddenly drop at the interface.
