Abstract

Radiophotoluminescent (RPL) glass dosimetry system is applicable for measurement of radiation dose of X-rays and gamma rays, using a flat silver activated phosphate glass RPL detectors. They are under permanent development, so the aim of this work was to investigate RPL glass dosimeters for application in environmental monitoring according to the IEC Standards. The following dosimetric characteristics of the recently developed SC-1 flat RPL glass dosimeters with FGD-202 reader for environmental dosimetry were investigated: uniformity/batch homogeneity, reproducibility, linearity, detection threshold and energy dependence in air, and on phantom. The characteristics of RPL dosimeters investigated in this work match the requirements of the international standards for environmental monitoring.
