Abstract
- The National report on Geotechnical engineering education and practice in Croatia is presented. A historical overview is included. The main emphasis is on the changes that occurred in the higher education system according to the Bologna process. Geotechnical courses are offered at four Croatian Universities and one Polytechnics according to both the old and the new curricula. It is shown that geotechnical education has a long tradition in Croatia, and it includes continuing education for practicing engineers. The recent geotech-nical practice in Croatia is presented through the major geotechnical project, which is the Croatian motorway system, and examples of construction in urban areas are given.
