Mehanička ventilacija u neonatalnoj jedinici intenzivnog liječenja - jednogodišnje iskustvo

Mechanical ventilation increases in survival of VLBW and other infants. Retrospective analysis was undertaken of 74 ventilated patients admitted in NICU in Osijek during the year 2004.Among the ventilated children 85, 1% were preterms, and 14, 9% terms. Sruvival rate was 74, 3%. The commonest complication was sepsis (25, 6%), followed by brain haemorrhage (6, 8%) and retinopathy of prematurity (6, 8%).
