Abstract
- In this work we report how to stimulate astrocytes calcium signalling using an organic cell sensing and stimulating transistor (O-CST). We demonstrate that astroglial cells can adhere and proliferate in these devices giving us the possibility to stimulate bioelectrical activity on this type of cells. By the use of calcium imaging we can prove that our device can cause an increase of intracellular calcium. This research opens a new path in the study of glial cells and their bioelectrical activity.
