Abstract: A techno-economic comparison of membrane technologies (microfiltration (MF), nanofiltration (NF)and reverse osmosis (RO)) and physico-chemical operations (struvite precipitation and ammoniastripping) for obtaining nutrient-rich fractions from biogas digestates, has been carried out. Fourdifferent treatments for the digestate including solid-liquid separation using a decanter centrifuge or ascrew press are compared. A screw press followed by membrane technologies (treatment B) shows thebest economical potential with a total potential of 4.9€/t feed.Keywords: Digested manure, nutrient recovery, membrane technology, techno-economics
