Modernizm bir dünya görüşü olarak, dünyanın her yerine ulaşmış olup, toplumsal yaşamın örgütleniş biçimini değiştirmiş ve sosyo-kültürel değişimlere yol açmıştır. Bu durum geleneksel toplumlardaki geleneğe ait unsurların, değişmesine ya da yok olmasına sebep olmuştur. Yüksek lisans tezi olarak hazırlanan bu çalışmada üzerinde durulan temel konu; Rize-Çamlıhemşin yöresinde, sosyo-kültürel değişimle beraber gerçekleşen değişimlerin, yörenin geleneksel kültüründe, yayla göçü, yayla şenlikleri, düğün ve Horon üzerinde yaşanan değişimlerin nedenlerini ortaya koyabilmektir. Bu bağlamda, yaşanan değişim ve nedenleri araştırılırken, bir yandan değişimleri gerçekleştiren temel etkenlerin bu alanlarda yarattığı biçimsel, işlevsel ve şekilsel değişim gözlemlenmiş, diğer yandan ise alan araştırmasındaki görsel kayıtlar ve yöre insanlarının anlatımları, kaynak olarak kullanılarak, hem geçmişteki durumun hem de günümüzdeki durumun ortaya konulması amaçlanmıştır.
As a philosophy, modernism has reached all over the World, changed the way the organization of the social life and led to socio-cultural changes. This situation caused changing or disappearing of elements that belong to tradition. In this study which prepared as a master thesis, the objective and key issues are to exhibit the causes of alteration that took place in the traditional culture of the Rize-Çamlıhemşin region such as pasture migration, pasture festivals, wedding and Horon. In this contex while investigating of the alteration and it reasons, the formal, functional and conformational changes have been observed, the field reserch records and the descriptions of local people have been used as a source to define both the past and the present situations.
