Abstract

IONS 2017, Ecole Polytechnique & Université Paris-Sud, France, June 14-17 2017<br />The retinal image quality is affected by the interaction between chromatic and monochromatic aberrations. In a computational study, McLellan et al. (2002) showed that in the absence of monochromatic aberrations chromatic aberrations are more deleterious to vision than in the natural eye, suggesting that aberrations might protect the eye from the impact of Longitudinal Chromatic Aberration (LCA). In this study we studied experimentally the combined effect of aberrations and chromatic defocus on visual performance
