Abstract

In this paper 8 different methods for calculating apparent Michaelis constant are compared using computational modelling of biosensors. It has been experimentally determined that methods for calculating the values of Michaelis-Menten kinetic parameters can be used depending on the value of biosensor’s diffusion module. Research findings show that when the diffusion module does not exceed 1, all of the analyzed methods can be used to calculate approximate values of apparent Michaelis constant. It is concluded that Ridders’ method is the most effective at calculating apparent Michaelis constant with more precision, and the methods for calculating the values of Michaelis-Menten kinetic parameters are more effective at relatively rough estimations of apparent Michaelis constant.
