Shadow economy as a threat to national security

Тіньова економіка притаманна економічній системі будь-якої без винятку держави. Проте, залежно від масштабів, воно по-різному впливає на економічні та соціально-політичні процеси в тій чи іншій країні. У літературі допустимим розміром тіньової економіки є 5-10% ВВП, такий масштаб не викликає суттєвих змін чи порушень у соціально-економічних процесах держави. За даними Міністерства економіки України станом на 1 квартал 2021 року, розмір тіньової економіки становить 30% офіційного ВВП, що перевищує критичні межі. У свою чергу, це призводить до диспропорцій в економіці, втрат державного бюджету, зниження фінансової безпеки, неефективності рішень соціально-економічної політики. Саме тому для забезпечення сталого розвитку країни та підвищення рівня життя населення необхідно мінімізувати як внутрішні, так і зовнішні загрози економічній безпеці, однією з яких є тіньова економіка. The shadow economy is inherent in the economic system of any state without exception. However, depending on the scale, it affects the economic and sociopolitical processes in a given country in different ways. In the literature, the allowable size of the shadow economy is 5-10% of GDP, this scale does not cause significant changes or violations in the socio-economic processes of the state. According to the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine as of the 1st quarter of 2021, the size of the shadow economy is 30% of official GDP, which exceeds critical limits. In turn, this leads to disparities in the economy, losses of the tate budget, reduced financial security, ineffective decisions of socio-economic policy. That is why, in order to ensure the sustainable development of the country and improve the living standards of the population, it is necessary to minimize both interna and external threats to economic security, one of which is the shadow economy.
