Abstract

Many authors debate about the current educational crisis, mainly due to the resistance and adaptation of schools to the characteristics and needs of postmodern societies. In this sense, we have to recognize that educational failure is a democratic failure. Schools must be understood and built considering the culture, values and problems of today's society, having a coordinated collaboration of all the educational agents involved in the educational praxis development. For this reason, this article aims to highlight the need to incorporate the figure of the Social Education professional in the formal scope, since its training can be essential to improve educational development in schools, acting as an agent of social change, intervening and mediating, from a socio-educational perspective, between students, family, teachers and the close social environment. As well as educating in democratic values and preparing citizens for integration and coexistence in democracy.<br />Universidad Pablo de Olavide
