Abstract
- The solution of some of the groundwater management problems on the regional scale requires information on groundwater flow patterns, including sources, sinks and travel times of groundwater, notably in regionally bound studies where the concurrent interests of nature reserves, wetlands and agriculture call for integrated water management. The SIMPATH postprocessor was developed to calculate groundwater flow patterns from SIMGRO data. SIMPATH can be used for two-dimensional or three-dimensional steady-state flow patterns and for three/four-dimensional dynamic simulations. Path line data may be processed by the SIMSYS module, which automatically generates a groundwater systems analysis of the study area.
