Students discover the concepts of multicriteria spatial analysis and the features offered by the Geographical Information System ArcGIS 10.. Several obstacles emerged throughout the resolution of the problem: in data mining, visual exploration, decision-making steps. Adopting didactical engineering as research methodology, we propose a categorization of these difficulties based on visual operator's taxonomies and we rely on theoretical frameworks and tools of sciences education to offer learning scaffolding and technical improvements.
