L'assimilació dels historicismes en l'arquitectura domèstica del segle XIX. De la dependència formal a la consecució d'un estil propi

Aquí se pretende analizar la influencia de los diferentes historicismos en la arquitectura doméstica del siglo XIX a través de las diferentes capitales europeas. Así, se observa cómo la influencia de los estilos históricos, tan importante en la arquitectura oficial y representativa, se limita al uso de algunos elementos estilísticos concretos, pero sin llegar nunca a reproducciones completas de edificios históricos. Paralelamente se observa un proceso de distanciamiento formal entre ambas categorías de edificios, que en el caso de la arquitectura doméstica conducirá a la gestación del lenguaje Art Nouveau, un estilo propio de la arquitectura privada, que así se desliga de los modelos impuestos por la arquitectura oficial.
In this article, we analyse the influence of different revivalist styles on domestic architecture during the nineteenth century, looking at different European capitals. Thus, we can see how the influence of historical styles (so important in official and representative architecture) is reduced to the limited use of some concrete stylistic elements, without amounting to complete reproductions of whole historical buildings. Parallel to this, we notice a process of formal separation process between both architectural categories which, in the case of domestic architecture, will lead to the gestation of the artistic language of Art Nouveau (an individual style of private architecture which in this way frees itself from the models imposed by official architecture).
