Abstract

The automotive industry increasingly uses natural fibres for interior parts. The components concerned usually do not have load functions, but dimensional stability must be guaranteed for parts of greater extension. Natural fibres are required to fulfil the demands of sufficient strength, low weight, and heat resistance. The advantage of using composites reinforced by natural fibres is considered to lie in their biodegradability and in the prospect of using them in environmentally friendly recycling techniques.
