The single species, Kelypitnus steineri sp. nov. is diagnosed, described, and illustrated and compared to the two most similar genera known, Neoptinus Gahan and Pitnus Gorham. Key words: Kelypitnus, Coleoptera, Ptinidae, new genus, Madagascar, Bostrichoidea, endemic
