Abstract
- A series of CaMoO4:Eu3 + with diverse morphologies were prepared via co-precipitation method with different organic additives, which were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy. The results show that the organic additives do not change the crystal structures of CaMoO4:Eu3 + phosphors, but greatly influence the morphologies and PL intensities of CaMoO4:Eu3 + phosphors. The morphologies of CaMoO4:Eu3 + phosphors were tuned through the fundamental experimental conditions such as the surfactants and binary mixed solvents. The CaMoO4:Eu3 + particles appear as diverse morphologies of leaf- and flower-like microspheres, single and twinned hemispheres, etc., with diameters ranging from 50 nm to 8.0 μm. In our work, six types of surfactants, and two kinds of binary solvent system of EG/H2O and DMF/H2O were investigated on their effect on the morphologies, particle sizes and PL properties of the samples. The red emission of CaMoO4:Eu3 + phosphors locate at 614 nm excited at 395 nm, assigned to Eu3 + characteristic emission.
