Abstract
- The minimal clinically important difference (MCID) index informs the lower threshold for change of an outcome measurement that is important to the related stakeholders (patients, families, healthcare providers) (Engel et al., 2018). Such index is available in several psychometric studies of different outcome measures for children and adolescents with cerebral palsy (CP). Values for MCID provide accurate interpretation of clinical changes in this population, which might help during clinical decision making based on what is meaningful for the patient and their family. The aims of this scoping review are: (1) review the literature regarding MCID indexes of standardized outcome measures for children and adolescents with CP; and (2) summarize the reported MCID index according to the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF).
