Investigating the influence of personality traits associated with psychopathy on the relationship between perceived and felt emotional reactions to music

This study aims to examine if personality traits associated with psychopathy are associated with the relationship between perceived and felt emotional reactions to music. Emotions will be operationalised in line with Russell's (1980) circumplex model and the eight major affect components, which are delineated as alert, excited, happy, serene, calm, depressed, sad and fearful. Empathy has been included as an additional variable to assess any potential mediating effects on the relationship between personality traits associated with psychopathy and perceived and felt emotions.
