Abstract

An interactive music composition support system is proposed, which helps users' satisfied musical composition by their repeated performing of subjective evaluation toward candidate of musical pieces generated by the system. In this paper, brain wave information by using hand-held EEG device is applied instead of users' direct manipulation of partial evaluation of musical pieces of the proposed system, in order to reduce users' fatigue and extract unconscious and essential evaluation based on users' Kansei. In this paper, a new method of extracting partial evaluation is proposed, which focuses the partially evaluated time from each users' significant brain wave ranges of frequency. Evaluation experiments are performed and the validity of the proposed method is proved.
