Computer Simulation of Quasi Two-Dimensional Phases

We survey selected computer simulations or “experiments” relating to the statistical physics of quasi two-dimensional phenomena. An introduction to various simulation methods is presented, and a limited discussion is provided on general simulation procedures for modeling different physical phenomena. Studies on the melting of physisorbed rare-gas films and on the atomic monolayer structure of incommensurate krypton on graphite are presented.
