Resetting the table for Commonwealth studies at the beginning of the 21st century

A core of Commonwealth Studies can be discerned which constitutes a coherent intellectual agenda for this field of study at the beginning of the 21st century. It should be built around four disciplines--twentieth-century history, international relations, comparative politics, and political economy. It is important too that these disciplines should be pursued in combination and in appropriate dialogue.
