Abstract
- The dot area, shape, and geometry of placement directly affect halftone printability in terms of tone and color rendition, effective density range, color gamut, dot gain, and so on. These features then dictate the capacity of printing process facilities necessary to achieve quality parameters of a copy such as tone and color content, sharpness, definition, contrast, and so on. All these features are largely associated with halftoning. Therefore, the development of technologies and algorithms for the transformation of an image structure involved in halftoning is in mainstream research and became especially intense with the transition to digital data processing.
